Ministries

The Audio/Media ministry exists to offer a high standard of excellence that is expected of each member during each worship experience and special event throughout the church.
The Christian Education Ministry exists for the purpose of providing a comprehensive curriculum that assists in the process of shaping Christian discipleship. The Ministry of Christian Education seeks to assist, provide training opportunities for, and equip all ministries and members for ministry. "It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Eph. 4:11-13)
The Church Safeness & Crisis Intervention Ministry exists to prohibit any possible crisis around the church and its properties, as well as to provide a safe environment for worship and other church-related events.
The Couple's Ministry exists to provide guidance and instruction that will enable pre-married and married couples to fully understand God's plan of the marriage covenant and the structure and function of the Christian family.
The Daughters of Zelophehad exist as sisters to impart the word of God, strengthen our faith, support, encourage, uplift, and minister to the needs of God's people through fellowship and worship.
The Evangelism Ministry exists to compel men, women, boys, and girls to Jesus Christ. Our message is the good news of the Gospel: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) We serve beyond the walls of the church and reach those who have fallen into the cracks of society and perhaps will never enter into the church except when bidded to come.

The Hospitality and Culinary Ministry exists to serve wholesome and nutritious food. The ministry oversees the operation, use, cleanliness, and maintenance of the church kitchen and its equipment. It provides food for all special occasions upon request from other ministries, whether a full dinner or repass. It also provides food for funerals, receptions and other church-supported activities.
The Intercessory Prayer Ministry exists to intentionally seek God for the needs of the church, the church families, the community, the body of Christ, those who are in authority in our world, and our ministry partners, and to expect God's miraculous powers to be displayed.
The Men's Ministry exists to provide discipleship and fellowship for young and adult men of the community and church. It provides a vehicle for spiritual growth that includes teaching, worshiping, mentoring, and praying for one another.
The Missionary Ministry exists to help those who have experienced a loss: the loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of health, or loss of hope. We offer a supportive, spiritual environment where people feel safe to share their grief. Grievers need a place where they can tell their story, they need to know they have been heard, and they need to know that someone is listening and that someone cares. The Bible states, "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted" (Matt. 5:4).
The Missions and Outreach Ministry exists because the Church has been called to be salt and light in a dark and dying world (Matt. 5:14-16). Therefore, we serve our surrounding communities through connections and partnerships, whereby we give time, talent and monetary resources as ways to demonstrate our love and obedience to God. All activities are done on a "no strings attached" basis.
The Music and Worship Ministry is comprised of a band with vocal music led by the New Canaan Praise team, the Canaan Fellowship choir and our children and youth choir known as Canaan Land Anointed Youth Choir (C.L.A.Y.). The Music Ministry exists to lead the people of God in praise and worship, as well as to provide a place of expression for people of all ages to whom He has gifted in the areas of singing, sound support, and the playing of instruments.
The Pastoral Care Ministries exist as an extension of our pastors in ministering the Word of God to our members. To facilitate other congregational needs, the Pastoral Care team is present as prayer counselors during altar calls, baptism, intercessory prayer, bereavement, shut-ins, weddings, hospital, nursing home, ministry to our seniors, and in benevolence ministry, offering themselves as willing servants of God.
The Praise Priest (Dance) Ministry exists to lead the people of God into His transforming presence through spontaneous and choreographed praise, warfare, travailing, celebration, and worship dance. The dancers minister as an outpouring of a personal and intimate relationship with the Lord, and the dancers have been anointed and appointed to set the captives free and deliverance and praise are manifested.
The Singles Ministry exists to show the love of Christ to those who are separated, divorced, or widowed. The intent of this ministry is to provide a compassionate, unconditional, and supportive outreach through discipleship and fellowship, connecting us to God as our source of strength, healing, and love.
The Ushers Ministry exists to serve by greeting guests, handing out bulletins, and ushering people to an open seat during a worship experience. Often, guests and new members are intimidated by the size of our church, especially seeing so many strangers. Through loving service, our ushers minister to their fears and help them to feel welcomed, safe, and at home.
